Forgive me, but I just find this cleverly put together video to be so highly motivational. Not sure if it’s just a ‘man thing’, but it gets right under my skin and so encapsulates the essence and journey of success. It combines music from Gladiator (one of my all time favourite films) with a track from Transformers, along with video clips from Snatch and words taken from the final Rocky (6) Balboa film, Coach carter and a famous Muhammad Ali speech. The icing on the cake are the words from Rocky Balboa to his son, which simply asserts that we are each responsible for how our lives turn out and it’s up to each of us to do our best and be our best.
Here, as best as I could catch them, are the rest of the lyrics/text: “It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me or nobody is going to hit as hard as life, but it ain’t how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. Thats how winning is done. Because is you’re willing to go through all the battle to got to where you gotta get, who’s got the right to stop you?
Now if you know what you are worth, then go out and get what you’re worth, but you gotta be willing to take the hits and not point fingers and say that you’re not where you wanna be coz of him or her or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain’t you. You’re better than that.”
