Utility Warehouse Distributors walk on fire!

WOW…what a day we all had! It’s an experience that will stay with me for life and judging by all the texts, emails, calls and cards – that feeling seems true for us all. Click here for some photographs.

It has been a fantastic day. We did some incredible things together. Challenged some boundaries. Laid to rest some self-limiting fears. Faced a very real fear & triumphed over it. Forged new friendships, found some new partnerships. We’ve eated well, drunk a little (or perhaps a lot). Enjoyed beautiful entertainment & danced under the stars.

But here’s the real thing. We’ve looked up, perhaps seen the Mountain for the first time. It’s been there our whole life…in the form of our hopes & our dreams. Perhaps we ignored it, stuffed it down or never even knew it was there. But it’s there now…the clouds have been blown away & we can see the summit. It’s a beautiful thing & together, if you wanna come, we’re going to the top.

This has been your Breakthrough Day…Saturday October 15th 2011 The day, more than any other day before, that you drew your line in the sand & set out with a 100% do or die trying attitude in pursuit of your goals…your Mountain!

Walking on fire – All credit to the team…

My very grateful thanks on behalf of all of us, to those who contributed so much to the day. Neil & Sarah Hewitt (FireSpirit.co.uk) – massive thanks for taking us all through the process of breaking arrows, walking on broken glass (for some) and for guiding 75 of us safely over the fire…true stars who have empowered us all. Thanks to Mike & Tracey Bayliss for sourcing various things and for their patience with erecting the tent. Many thanks to Mo Boughey and Helen Elvins (Faces Unlimited), each for their support with the lunch-time catering and on the day…and Helen, for feeling the unpopular person with the camera, but then bringing lots of smiles with her body-painting skills. Thanks also to John Dolden for capturing much of the event on camera and to the fantastic/hard working Sean’s Media Team from New College, Redditch who arrived early and stayed late to ensure that the day was captured on film for us…many thanks to you all…and to our very own Wes Linden, for stepping in last-minute as Presenter for the event DVD. Many thanks Maz Townsend for the loan of audio equipment. A big thank you to Abbie, Sam & Bethany for all that they brought to the day and to Miles, who worked tirelessly for 48 hours and then until 3am after the event to ensure that everything was cleared away. Huge thanks to my Sarah, who toiled so hard behind the scenes and in the kitchen, preparing/organising food, drink and all those little details that a chap can so often overlook. A massive thank you to BBQ King Willem Pietersen & helpers for delivering a mountain of perfectly cooked food in the evening…job well-done and to everyone who brought along an item of food.

And most of all, to this winning/top performing Utility Warehouse Distributor team, for investing in the day, driving the miles and entering into the spirit of the whole event. I hope that the 15th October 2011 truly was a breakthrough day for us all, a significant stepping stone on our journey up the ‘mountain’ and a day for setting goals and dispensing with any self-limiting beliefs. To the top…it has to be!

Walked on fire & taking things forward…

One of the most rewarding parts of the event for me came on Sunday morning – reading all the goal sheets, a very enlightening and humbling experience and with this a growing awareness that we all achieved something very special together. I know from personal experience that most of us pay lip-service to goal-setting. We attend the courses, read the books, do the seminars, but when it comes to application of theory to our own lives, we so often fall short. Please don’t let this be the case this time! Whether with your Utility Warehouse business, some other worthy project or life in general, well defined goal-directed activity has to be the way to go!

It’s often said that people don’t want to be part of your experiment. That’s as true for you as it is for me. If we don’t know our own direction…our own dreams…our own goals, how can we ever help others to define theirs and who would ever want to follow us? Don’t sell yourself short on this vital foundational stone and if you’ve never before put pen to paper/taken action on your own goal-getting action plan…NOW is the time!

A huge thanks for the Fire-walk Jez. I know Mark got so much out of the day, as I am sure most, if not all, did too. For me, the day reiterated our commitment to both the business and your team within. I was lucky enough to catch a picture of most people doing the actual walk and have downloaded our (non-professional) pics onto Mark’s (very recently joined) Facebook page. He has sent you a friend request, if you wish to have a look. Once again, massive thanks. To the Top!

I would like to thank you so much for inviting me to last weeks fire-walk. I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed it. I will remember the day for a very long time. I do have a bruise in my throat from the arrow though, which is a bit sore. I readjusted myself on the first attempt and it slipped sideways slightly but you learn from your experiences, which is what the day was all about. It’s funny actually but it was the arrow not the fire that I was more concerned about. Maybe because it is in a more critical area to life and death!

Thank you also for the recognition and the book. That really took me by surprise, you naughty man. I’m looking forward to reading the book. Please pass on my thanks to your family as well. What a fantastic job they all did and what a lovely family you have. I bet Sarah is very tired today. I’ve had to have some shut eye on the settee this afternoon and I didn’t have all the preparation on Friday. So well done Sarah. I look forward to achieving my goals and the next Utility Warehouse event in January. To the top!

Hi Jez and Sarah, family and friends. Thank you so much for the awsome fire-walk event you all put on last week. It was an
absolutely brilliant day where people, Utility Warehouse and others, came together to share their dreams, hopes and faced their fears together. Very atmospheric and hot too! Focus is what it is now all about! Onwards and upwards together!

  4. Rob Tolchard says:

Hi Jez. Just a very quick message to say THANK YOU. Thank you to you, Sarah and family for putting on such a fantastic day. I for one certainly feel that something profound happened in my psyche that is odd to explain. And it was so great to see so many cheerful people together at the same time. Further to our conversation in Minehead in the summer, this is the best platform to create our best year ever with Utility Warehouse.

  5. Rachael Bayliff says:

Hi Jez, I would like to say thank you on behalf of the Media team; we are extremely grateful of the opportunity to film at your Utility Warehouse fire walk event. It has been a huge help in our production unit, gaining first-hand experience especially with Wes Linden’s involvement. We all had an amazing time, and it was very kind of you to allow us to also take part in such an amazing experience.

I personally, would also like to thank you for the CD’S; I have been reading Robert T. Kiyosaki’s books, since I watched him on Oprah almost ten years ago, so I am really looking forward to hearing the audio; this was an extremely kind thought, Thank you. We shall keep you informed throughout the editing process and arrange a time that is best with you, for viewing the footage.
