Charles Wigoder, Chief Executive of The Utility Warehouse (Telecom plus Plc), has today announced news that a long-term management services agreement with npower (one of Europe’s largest utility suppliers) has been implemented.

In a volatile wholsale energy market, where prices have on some days been more than 400% higher than usual levels, resulting financial burdens had been of increasing concern. Charles Wigoder commented that if left unchecked, they would have threatened the future viability of the entire business.

Whilst ensuring that Utility Warehouse Distributors no longer need to worry about wholesale energy prices and maintaining the unique benefits of being Europe's only single billing multi-utility provider, the npower agreement meets three other key objectives:

  • Ensuring The Utility Warehouse can continue to provide existing customers with their unique multi-utility proposition, on a single integrated monthly bill.
  • Ensuring the continued payment of residual income to Utility Warehouse Distributors on
    existing and future energy customers.
  • The continued offering of the full current range of Utility Warehouse services to new
customers (including the unique "triple value guarantee" for energy).

Whilst this agreement gives npower an option to aquire a 29% shareholding in Telecom plus, Charles Wigoder has also announced new guarantees to protect the long term security of indidual distributor businesses:

  • Npower have agreed that if they acquire control, they will not make any changes to the compensation plan which reduces the rates and/or number of levels at which Utility Warehouse distributors are paid residual income, in respect of all customers who are taking our services at that time.
  • Our main attraction to npower is the Company's unique business model and Distributor network. Utility Warehouse are a significant sales channel with huge potential for growth. If npower acquire control, while they could decide to review the best way to incentivise and reward the network in respect of new customers gathered after that date, it would clearly not make commercial sense for them to do anything which damaged morale or had the effect of reducing distributor activity.
  • The management services agreement with npower is for a minimum of five years. In the unlikely event they decide not to renew it, they will become responsible for billing energy to those customers themselves, but continue to pay Utility Warehouse commission on the
customers energy usage in perpetuity. This ensures the continued payment of residual income to distributors in accordance with the Company's compensation plan.

Overall, the npower agreement has been very well received by existing Utility Warehouse Distributors, with a view being expressed that our partnerships with npower and TMobile offer excellent testimony to the strength of both Telecom plus as a company and business opportunity.

In his great audio - Building your Network Marketing Business, Jim Rohn paints a powerful picture regarding the 'wind of opportunity'. He makes the point that the very same winds blow on us all - winds of hardship, winds of challenge, winds of prosperity and that success does not come only to those who experience the favourable winds.

During the last two years, it would be fair to say that Telecom plus has experienced one or two gales. Business can be like that! Wholesale energy price increases of 400% have impacted the Company's bottom line and this in turn has negatively influenced the Company's share price. Just before Express Day last year, the Company rightly adjusted our claim to being the UK's cheapest energy...instead replacing this with an equally compelling triple guarantee.

Well good people...you must have sensed that the wind has changed and that our sails are now full...the winds of opportunity are now! Last months npower deal is phenomenal news for us all, resulting in a secure future, significant improvements to our compensation plan and the added incentive to gather energy only customers...brilliant.

Just think about it...our business partners now include the second largest communications company in the World - TMobile, along with one of the UK's top three energy suppliers - npower. Did you know that npower currently serves around 6 million customer accounts, is the second largest supplier of energy to the business sector and employs 8,500 people. npower is owned by RWE - Germany's fifth-largest industrial company and ranking among the world's leading multi-utility companies. WoW!!!

Across the Country, Career Opportunity Presentations are buldging at the seams. Last week alone, the Birmingham COP welcomed a record 250 people, including 100 guests and the next evening, numbers at the Bristol meeting were double that of the previous month.

We have new Part 1 & Part 2 training, we have a compelling range of business services, we have both residential and business blackberry (& what a sexy product this is). Did you know that Blackberry users in the UK are set to increase from 750,000 to 11 million users in the next couple of years. Just think about the potential of that and if you have yet to evaluate our range of Blackberry services, I would 100% encourage you to do so. Awesome!

We have highly competitive broadband deals, incredible value mobile tariffs (including the UK's lowest line rental), guaranteed savings versus BT, energy prices guaranteed to be cheaper than British Gas & the main local supplier etc...and lets not forget an infinity compensation plan that is the envy of the Network Marketing industry...including an awesome Holiday Promotion...that everyone of us can still qualify for.

Make it happen

Further strengthening their unique in the marketplace mobile phone services, The Utility Warehouse has today announced the addition of a competitive Blackberry service to the mix. Via their well established partnership with TMobile, the ability to market Blackberry services within the residential sectors will no doubt be well received by the 1000's of Independent Distributors who already market Utility Warehouse services on either a part-time or full-time basis.

BlackBerry – What is it?

BlackBerry is the brand name for a complete mobile solution that allows you to be totally in touch wherever you happen to be. Growth in Europe has been rapid since its introduction in 2001 and it will soon have five million European subscribers.

With BlackBerry, work doesn’t have to stop or life stand still just because you are out and about. The BlackBerry handset is quad-band so it will work whatever country or continent you are in. Your emails find you automatically, without delay and there is no need to dial-up for a connection as BlackBerry is always connected via GPRS.

In a mobile phone-sized handset, the BlackBerry allows professionals and enterprises the ability to quickly and easily manage their business and personal communications whilst on the move. BlackBerry has all the functions of a mobile phone and combines that with PC functions including Internet access, so that there is no need to use a laptop to check email, no need for a fixed phone line and no need to dial-up or login.
