Just when we thought that things could surely get no better and another fabulous article is published by Which? and in the April 2009 edition of the UK's leading consumer magazine, the Utility Warehouse has been given 'five stars' across the board and well ahead of every other major energy Company in the UK, along with an overwhelming 83% customer satisfaction rating. It's in print, it's official and the Utility Warehouse can quote it and all their competition can do is 'read and weep'. These ongoing press endorsements are worth their weight in gold and well beyond the reach of any marketing budget, press or TV advertising campaign.

"I take other services from Utility Warehouse, such as landline and broadband. I like the total package. they respond quickly to queries and are great on the phone - intelligent, helpful people and very good on customer service".

In December, the Company announced yet more glowing news from Which? magazine - that The Utility Warehouse have been awarded the coveted "Best Buy" for BroadCall. In their survey, Which? published the results of their latest survey of Home Phone and broadband bundles. BroadCall was named as the ONLY Best Buy. No other product or provider was good enough! So, it's official - BroadCall from the Utility Warehouse is the best Home Phone and broadband bundle on the market - Which? says so! the Company scored a customer satisfaction rating of 77% - a massive lead of 20% over their closest competitor. These outstanding results can be found in the February edition of Which? magazine.

Just two months ago, Which? named The Utility warehouse as the UK's best energy supplier. Now the Companny are best for Home Phone and broadband too. BroadCall, Gas and Electricity: all on one bill, all at great value (including unlimited 'free global calls' 24/7), and all brought to our customers by the UK's best supplier. Could it get any better?

The Utility Warehouse have just advised that they will be reducing their energy prices (gas and electricity) with effect from 1 May 2007 in line with their “Triple Value” guarantee.

On average, Utility Warehouse gas prices are being reduced by around 15% and electricity prices are being reduced by around 2%, although there are of course some regional variations. Full details of the Company's new energy tariffs (for both residential and business club customers) are available via the Company's website.

Have you noticed how the “Big 6” suppliers always seem to be increasing their prices. No sooner have you moved to a different one because their prices were a little cheaper, then up they go again and you would have been better off staying where you were in the first place! Sound familiar?

The Utility Warehouse Discount Club is different. For almost 5 years they have provided their customers with the cheapest domestic energy in the UK. As a result, The Utility Warehouse has seen amazing growth. In fact, the Daily Mail recently reported The Utility Warehouse as “The Best” for customer satisfaction in a major independent survey.

If you’re getting fed up with changing suppliers every few months, and are looking for guaranteed long-term value, why not join over 200,000 other households throughout the UK who already benefit from the huge savings provided by The Utility Warehouse and to ensure your new gas and electricity prices remain competitive, the Company compares their prices every month against the average of the cheapest direct debit tariffs available from each of the “Big 6” suppliers, on a like-for-like basis, if necessary, adjusting their prices on a regular basis. Whilst the Company can’t do anything about the soaring cost of energy in the wholesale markets, they can help customers to avoid paying more than they need to.

So once you’ve transferred your gas and electricity to the Utility Warehouse you can relax, confident in the knowledge you’ll always be receiving a really great deal!

On the 17th August, The Daily Mail published another enlightening article supporting the overwelming sense of public concern about spiralling household expenses and highlighting that there has never been a better time to share...talk about...evangelise...sing from the roof tops about the benefits of Utility Warehouse Discount Club Membership and in particular the Company's energy offering.

Excerpts from the Daily Mail...

  • Britain's second-biggest energy firm has been slammed for hiking prices nearly 20 per cent just days after revealing soaring profits. The latest price rise means Powergen's six million customers will be paying nearly £500 more this year than they did in 2003.

  • Experts warned that one household every 15 seconds is being plunged into 'fuel poverty' due to the industry's massive price rises. This is defined as a household where more than 10 per cent of disposable income is spent on heating and electricity.

  • From Monday, the price of gas will go up an eye-watering 18.4 per cent and electricity will go up 9.7 per cent.

  • In March, Powergen - recently voted as Britain's most hated big energy firm - raised gas prices by 24.4 per cent and electricity by 18.4 per cent.

  • Since 2003, Powergen's seven price rises, including four double-digit rises, are costing its customers a fortune. They are paying an extra £333 for gas and £151 for electricity, a total increase of £484 in just three years, according to the watchdog Energywatch.

  • A typical family will now have to fork out more than £1,000 on their energy bills if they use Powergen.

  • The announcement brings the total number of double-digit price rises from the country's big six energy suppliers to 12 since January 1st.

Powergens most recent energy price increase brings the total number of double digit price rises by the country's 'big six' energy suppliers to 12 since January 1st, with such price increases attributed to soaring wholesale prices for both gas and electricity, which are said to have incraesed by 87% since January 2005.

Looking at this reference to the 'big six' energy suppliers demonstartes the value of the Utility Warehouse Energy Triple Guarantee. These 'big six' companies account for 98% of UK households and include British Gas, Powergen, NPower, EDF (London Electricity, Seeboard and SWEB), Scottish Power and Scottish & Southern Energy.

The Utility Warehouse Triple Guarantee

The Utility Warehouse Triple Guarantee

  1. For gas, Thw Utility Warehouse guarantee that their prices will always be cheaper than British Gas, wherever a customer lives in the UK.

  2. For electricity, The Utility Warehouse guarantee that their prices will always be cheaper than the prices charged by the regional electricity supplier for the area where a customer lives.

  3. For complete peace of mind, The Utility Warehouse guarantees that their prices will always remain competitive compared with the cheapest tariffs available from the “Big 6” suppliers.

The Daily Mail also referred to concerns expressed by The charity Help the Aged over fears that pensioners will be the hit hardest by the recent rises. Mervyn Kohler, head of public affairs, said: "Many older people will struggle to afford to pay their energy bills and still have money left over to afford basics like food and clothes."

Also referenced were the fears that up to four million households are now in fuel poverty, which is nearly double the Government's previous estimate and that Consumer groups continue to urge customers to shop around to get a cheaper deal which could be saving them up to £260 a year.

According to a Which? customer satisfaction survey, whilst the 'big three' broadband providers fall short on customer satisfaction, 64 per cent of Utility Warehouse broadband customers who were surveyed reported being very satisfied with their service.

Interestingly, only 34 per cent of BT's customers, 25 per cent of AOL's customers and 47 per cent of Telewest customers were very satisfied with the service they received.

Also of note is that none of the cheapest broadband providers were at the top of the table as they didn't do so well for customer service. the 'free' broadband services Which? looked at - Sky, the Carphone Warehouse and Orange - require customers to subscribe to another paid-for service as well as tying themselves in for a lengthy time period.

Following Telecom plus PLC's AGM on 12th July 2006, shareholders have been informed that so far this financial year, the Company has traded satisfactorily and profits have exceeded budget.

Of particular note is the Company's reference to their purchase of Local Loop Unbundling (LLU) capacity on wholesale commercial terms and anticipated launch of a new range of Telecom plus broadband and telephony packages later this year.

Due to continuing record prices in the wholesale energy markets, The Utility Warehouse will again be increasing their energy prices with effect from 1 May.

These new prices are in line with the Company's unique Triple Value Guarantee, which ensures that Utility Warehouse customers always benefit from competitive energy prices. Indeed, the combined effect of the Company's increases this year (around 18% for gas) is substantially below the increases imposed this year by other major suppliers including British Gas (+22%), Powergen (+25%), npower (+32%) and Scottish & Southern (+33%).

Charles Wigoder, CEO Telecom plus Plc, in a news release to the Utility Warehouse Distributor network commented: "Even if it means we need to adjust our prices more frequently than some other suppliers, our policy is to keep our energy prices as low as possible for as long as possible."

"In particular, we wanted our customers to benefit from the lowest possible prices until the current winter central heating period was completely over, which is why our last increases on 1 March 2006 were substantially below the levels imposed by other energy companies. The continuing high cost of energy in the wholesale markets has however made a further increase in our own prices inevitable."

"We can’t do anything about the soaring cost of energy in the wholesale markets, but we
continue to do everything possible to help our customers avoid paying more than they
need to! Utility Warehouse customers can relax, confident in the knowledge they’ll always
be paying one of the cheapest prices for their energy, compared with all the other major
suppliers."

The Utility Warehouse is pleased to announce that, from May 1st, applications can be accepted from the Company's new business energy service.

The Utility Warehouse has previously only been able to supply gas and electricity services to Business Club customers who were in domestic rated premises. From the 1st May, this will be extended to cover small to medium sized enterprises in business rated premises.

For existing and prospective Utility Warehouse Distributors, the introduction of business energy adds a whole new perspective on what was already a great business opportunity. With significantly higher bills, this presents a particularly lucrative opportunity and ability for Utility Warehouse Distributors to create a good residual income faster than was previously possible via residential customers.

From a user perspective, customers will find that Utility Warehouse prices are highly competitive and will appreciate a policy of not being tied into a long-term contract (unlike most other suppliers of commercial energy). This gives a reassurance and peace of mind that comes from knowing that if The Utility Warehouse don’t remain competitive, they can switch to
another supplier without penalty, at any time.

In common with most other suppliers who have already announced price rises this year,
The Utility Warehouse today announced an energy price increase of around 11% with effect from 1 March 2006. The good news for Utility Warehouse customers is that this increase is substantially below the price rises recently announced by other companies, with electricity increases ranging from 13.9 (SSE) - 24.4% (Powergen) and gas increases ranging from 4.7% (EDF) to 18.4% (Powergen).

This means that new customers can make significantly greater savings by switching their energy to the Utility Warehouse. For example, an average household can now save around 17% compared with British Gas’s new dual fuel prices. That’s almost £200 p.a.!

The Company also today announced significant improvements to the way Utility Warehouse Distributors are paid commission on their energy customers.

Further strengthening their unique in the marketplace mobile phone services, The Utility Warehouse has today announced the addition of a competitive Blackberry service to the mix. Via their well established partnership with TMobile, the ability to market Blackberry services within the residential sectors will no doubt be well received by the 1000's of Independent Distributors who already market Utility Warehouse services on either a part-time or full-time basis.

BlackBerry – What is it?

BlackBerry is the brand name for a complete mobile solution that allows you to be totally in touch wherever you happen to be. Growth in Europe has been rapid since its introduction in 2001 and it will soon have five million European subscribers.

With BlackBerry, work doesn’t have to stop or life stand still just because you are out and about. The BlackBerry handset is quad-band so it will work whatever country or continent you are in. Your emails find you automatically, without delay and there is no need to dial-up for a connection as BlackBerry is always connected via GPRS.

In a mobile phone-sized handset, the BlackBerry allows professionals and enterprises the ability to quickly and easily manage their business and personal communications whilst on the move. BlackBerry has all the functions of a mobile phone and combines that with PC functions including Internet access, so that there is no need to use a laptop to check email, no need for a fixed phone line and no need to dial-up or login.

When The Utility Warehouse launched the Business Club last year, it was promised that new systems would be in place by January 2006 for any interested residential club customers to transfer to the new Business Club if they felt the services were more appropriate for their business needs or if they had registered with The Utility Warehouse originally in a business name.

The Utility Warehouse are pleased to announce that, effective immediately, they are able to accept applications for transfer.

To date, Utility Warehouse Distributors have mostly focused on the residential market, with a focus on telephony, mobile phone, energy and broadband services. With the addition of dedicated business services and tariff's, the Utility Warehouse (Telecom plus) business opportunity offers a more compelling financial proposition than ever before, affording new and existing distributors the opportunity to build more lucrative residual incomes than at any other time.
